On Sunday, our worship minister introduced to our congregation The Jesus Way by Phil Wickham. Using the Beatitudes as a launching point, I then preached on the way of Jesus. Give a listen.
I also want to invite any of you who are in the Louisville area to something I’ll be doing April 19, the Saturday before Easter. We’re going to spend 4 hours together that Saturday morning, looking at how we get to the cross and the empty tomb. Why did Jesus die? How does his death and resurrection bring together all the hopes of the OT - and look forward to God’s great kingdom?
With the Gospel of Matthew as our primary guide, I hope to drill down on the final week of Jesus’ life, and look at the descriptions Jesus uses of himself - and others use of him - to better understand how the death and resurrection of Jesus is the centerpiece of the book of Matthew, of the NT, the whole Bible, and our lives.
We’ll be meeting in the fellowship hall at Westport Road Church of Christ. We’ll meet 8:30-12:30, April 19. There will be breaks, of course, and snacks too! If you plan to come, please let me know so we can plan accordingly.
